STAHL CraneSystems exhibited at LogiMAT, the International Fair for Distribution, Materials Handling and Information Flow in Stuttgart, for the first time this year. There the company welcomed guests from around the world over three days. The highlight presented by the crane technology experts at their stand was the prototype of the new ST chain hoist, whose technical innovations could be viewed through an enclosure of Plexiglas. With more than 50,000 trade visitors, LogiMAT counts among the largest annual logistics fairs held in Europe.

This year saw the 15th edition of LogiMAT with, as in the previous year, considerable growth:
With 1,384 exhibitors (+8.1% over the previous year), an area of 102,100 square metres (+7.0%) and 50,187 trade visitors (+15.4%), the fair has positioned itself in international competition as the No. 1 platform for intralogistics and supply chain management. “Following the fantastic result of last year, where we had a 25 percent rise in visitor numbers, this additional increase in double-digit percentages was not necessarily expected,” says Exhibition Director Peter Kazander, Managing Director of EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress-GmbH, Munich. STAHL CraneSystems had a 40 square-metre stand at the fair in Stuttgart. The company exhibited five hoists, all of which were connected and operable. The new ST 50 chain hoist hung from the front part of the crane beam construction. “STAHL CraneSystems presented a new chain hoist with the latest drive concept the market has to offer. This means the brake is arranged such that it acts directly on the load during deceleration, thereby enabling safe lifting,” explains Product Manager Gerrit Buck. The further development of the tried-and-tested ST chain hoist is, moreover, equipped for the modern information and communications technology of Industry 4.0.

Apart from its product presentation, the stand concept also addressed the high level of vertical integration of the company from Künzelsau. STAHL CraneSystems manufactures all parts from gearbox and rope drum to control equipment and the smallest toothed wheel itself in its plant. The company showed its production operations in a short video clip.

The open stand of STAHL CraneSystems was well attended throughout the duration of the fair. Both interested parties as well as existing customers and partners from various countries stopped over at it. They admired the new developments and informed themselves about individual solutions. The team from STAHL CraneSystems was thus able to end the third day on a very positive note. “LogiMAT was a very worthwhile event. We spoke to many interested customers and crane building partners, and I therefore see the days as a big success,” says STAHL CraneSystems Product Manager Marc Döttling. The company intends to exhibit at the fair at the Stuttgart exhibition centre again next year.
